Republican Congressional candidate Tom Weaver, a former Navy officer, small manufacturing business owner and pro veterans’ issues advocate, today was endorsed by the National Defense PAC. This is a non-partisan organization that supports veterans running for elected office who believe in limited government. Below, please see their mission statement taken from the National Defense Pac website.
NATIONAL DEFENSE PAC MISSION
National Defense Political Action Committee [NationalDefensePAC] is dedicated to supporting the election of balanced-budget-committed Military Veterans to the U. S. Congress. We seek Military Veterans running for elected office who believe in limited government, will rein in the out of control spending of Congress, are committed to preserving and defending the US Constitution, and will support the independence and freedom of the individual as outlined in the Bill of Rights. Our purpose is to support Military Veterans for election to Congress who are dedicated to promoting the Free Enterprise System that created the greatest economic engine in the history of Planet Earth, who will CUT SPENDING and commit to the premise that raising taxes is not the answer to our spiraling national plunge towards bankruptcy. We sponsor candidates who will provide for a strong national defense and strong effective homeland security, work tirelessly to ensure illegal aliens are prevented from crossing our national borders and are deported when they do, and who will endorse the teaching of accurate US history and the Founding Fathers’ core values in educational institutions.
NATIONAL DEFENSE PAC, Chairman, Rear Admiral James J. Carey, USN (ret), stated, “Tom Weaver has the full support of the NDPAC for election to the US Congress. Because of his service to this country, he has an understanding of the issues facing active duty and retired military and their families. This experience and knowledge will make him a valuable asset in Congress;” said Carey.
Mr. Weaver is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Class of 1974. Post graduation, Tom was selected for Nuclear Power School after being interviewed
by the famous Admiral Rickover. He served on the USS Virginia, CGN38 and the USS Texas CGN39. He was certified a Chief Nuclear Engineer in 1978 and qualified as a Surface Warfare Office the same year.
“I’m very pleased to have received the endorsement of the National Defense Pac,” said Weaver. “My beliefs about the future of our country and the role and size of our Federal government are very much in line with the core values and mission of the National Defense PAC,” Weaver said.
