As a lifelong Massachusetts native, Stephen Coulter is the youngest son of public school teachers who taught him the value of education, hard work and personal responsibility. Stephen worked his way through college, earning his B.S. in Economics & Finance from then Bentley College, attending classes as a full-time evening student while working a full time day job. The experience was a testament to the value of hard work and a never give up work ethic. Stephen was introduced, on a blind date by a mutual college friend to South Shore native, Joan McGrath, whom he married.
Stephen returned to further his education by earning his MBA in Entrepreneurship from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College in 2004, also while balancing demanding business and family responsibilities.
and their three terrific children, Stephen, Kevin and Caroline reside in Scituate. Stephen has spent his career in the financial services industry. He was a top tier performer for JP Morgan Chase, in the Wholesale Home Equity division, but when the economic meltdown of 2008 occurred, the division in which Stephen worked was shut down leaving him, like far too many of our neighbors, out of a job. The experience was quite humbling and though the process of finding another job took nearly a year, it provides him with a first hand experience of the real world struggles of so many in Massachusetts. Stephen is currently a Wholesale Account Executive for US Bank and has been recognized for his top performance each year he has been eligible, including the prestigious “President’s Club”. He is presently an elected Member of the Board of Directors for the Scituate Housing Authority and the Chair of the Scituate Republican Town Committee.
